6000 vs 9300
Just got my 9300 with the WXGA+ screen. Not impressed. I didn't like the WUXGA true life because of the glare issue.
Stopped at a Dell kiose and the rep said I should get the 6000 with Ultra Sharp WSXGA+ screen. He said it is an amazingly shrap screen.
If I order the 6000 with the same components as my 9300 will I be happy or dissapointed. I am not a gamer (I'm in my 50's), I'll be using it mostly for Web browsing, e-mailing, Microsoft Office programs, digital editing and sometimes video viewing.
Any suggestions here will be appreciated.
Jules

Tim,,,that is kinda unfair,,,the poster was asking for opinions,,,I have one,,,If you are going to spend money on a laptop...why not get one of the new line ups,,,that has great features, with plenty of room for all kinds of upgrades.....and also,,,If you order one with a dell coupon,,you can save another $800 off......why not get the corvette...I did not imply anything is wrong with the 6000. I myself had to make a similar choice, as it is a fine machine,,but simply put the 9300 is better, and to say the only difference between them is 17 screen and a highend video card, is really insulting to all the fine dell IT people that designed and came up with the new inspiron 9300
I have on the way in pre-production
inspiron 9300
Pentium M Centrino 730 1.60ghz/533 Mhz FSB
1gig ddr2
17 inch true life wide screen
256 mb ddr2 533mhz 2dimm
60gb ata hard drive 7200
Microsoft windows XP media edition
cdr-DVD burner
intel pro/wireless
80 WHR 9-CELL BATT
INT DELL WIRELESS 350 BLUETOOTH
and all that for under $1,609 with dell coupon beat that with a stick...
