8600 upgrades?
I just got my 8600 last week and so far am very happy with it. Its my first laptop and I haven't done much research on how far upgrades with laptops have gone. I was just curious if its possible to upgrade (as in replace) HDs these days? If so, where's a good *discount* website I could look at?
Also I was wondering about the battery.... While looking on the specs I noticed it said the 9-cell is good for 500 charges. What is considered a charge? Should I expect to replace the battery within the year or should it last the life of the laptop (2-3yrs?)

The battery is charged each time that you connect the AC adapter to the laptop after you use your battery. Depending on use, you can expect the battery might last a year or more, as I said, this depends on use.

Figure on 1.5-2 years of use before a lithium ion battery will no longer hold a sufficient charge. Whether or not you charge it, it will die of old age - just use it normally, avoid temperature extremes of cold and hot, and deep discharges.
