A Concerned Warning about Batteries

We have seen references in this forum to efforts to modify or bypass the safety features of Dell portable system batteries. Also, we have seen forum users suggesting the purchase of third-party batteries. We are committed to the safety of our customers, and we want to make everyone aware that it is dangerous to modify or bypass the safety features of a battery. Also, Dell cannot ensure that third party vendors are not selling substandard batteries. We ask that Dell customers use caution when dealing with portable system batteries.
