Accidental Coverage Warranty

Who else thinks that the Accidental Coverage Warranty is stupid?

The reason why I am asking is because I have talked to this Dell Representative, about a situation that I got into. I was driving one day with the laptop in my Belken laptop bookbag on the back seat of my car, and a person cut me off without signaling, so with my instant reaction, I braked hard, and my laptop goes flying and hits the center concole of my armrest, and I hear some things clicked or cracked. So as soon as I got home, I checked my laptop for damages. Turns out, the corner of my laptop case broke off, and a couple of my keys on the keyboard were really, really loose, and one of the keys came off.

I contacted Dell Support for what I could do about the situation, and this Dell Rep tells me that if I purchase the Accidental Coverage Warranty, that my laptop will get covered, and if needed, my laptop would get replaced or fixed and what not. But at the time I asked the Dell Rep, she told me that it would be $119 and some change. And at that time, I had insufficient funds. Now, after a couple of weeks, I contacted Dell again, and another Dell Rep, after having collected my credit card number, tells me that the warranty only will cover future damages to the laptop, and not of anything that has already happened to the laptop.

I could understand that the warranty only covers future damages, but what is the point when I wanted to fix the past damages? And that the Dell Rep that helped me before, says that, that's the only thing that would help with my concern before. But now, turns out, that I cannot even get my concern solved even with the warranty. I then asked the current Dell Rep, to cancel the order, due to the pathetic reasons the policy of the warranty offers.

Anybody else agrees or has had this problem or what is everyone's opinion? All opinions, suggestions or advices are welcomed.

It's only "stupid" to you because you opted for it at the wrong time.

Call you health insurance company and ask if they'll cover pre-existing conditions.  Or, call your homeowner's insurance company and ask to purchase a rider for a piece of jewelry that's already been stolen.
