Welcome to the forums

I don't know where you got them from (the drivers disc you got with the laptop, maybe?), but those drivers are well out of date!

The ones offered on the XPS M1330 'Drivers & Downloads' page, are 6.10.0.5614, A03 - dated 13th June 2008

i downloaded the one in your link, and it said " This is not the correct audio driver for this system. the installer will now exit. " if it helps i got my laptop quite a few years ago :S

I'm pretty much new to actually fixing things as well, my computer crashed and for whatever reason my audio is not working either. Seems like it's completely gone, the only sound i get now are system beeps : (

im using a Dell inspiron e1505

Hopefully someone has a solution for me :)

I forgot to mention, i have windows xp home edition v.2002,  i'm pretty sure installing service pack 3 messed up the drivers.

This is not the correct audio driver for this system. the installer will now exit.

None of the drivers mentioned in this thread are correct for jordanweber12's Inspiron 1300. Follow this link to the 1300 download page and expand the Audio category to obtain the current Sigmatel driver, or you can click on "other versions" to get older versions that were previously released for the 1300 if you prefer. These are all XP drivers; Dell does not support Vista on the 1300.

studio6, follow this link to the E1505 downloads page. Only install the Sigmatel driver, not the Creative Labs software.

Hey jimco

thanks for the info... i tried downloading the Sigmatel driver driver... it didn't work. Perhaps dell needs to update it. I have sound now... but  it's the wrong one, im using the creative labs.
