In this case I would ask you to confirm if the support assist test was initiated after entering the system service tag or by just entering the system model . However since Windows memory diagnostics and F12 diagnostics do not indicate any error message we do not suspect any major issue , still if there are any performance issues with the system do initiate the support assist test after entering the service tag of the system with 1 memory module installed on the system at a time .
If there are any more queries do reply to this post with the service tag of the system sent via private message .
I tested with one RAM 8gb (new memory module only) and still had the same memory test results on Support assist only.
I'm wondering why I wasn't provided two memory modules as my system 16 gb of ram.
However I've not noticed any performance issues yet.
We’re sorry, it appears we already have a case open for your service tag.
The reference number is: 312187844
Result:
Critical errors found.
Critical errors must be addressed immediately. Other diagnostics may be affected by these errors. Please follow the steps below to resolve your diagnostic results. You should run the diagnostics again once the critical issues have been resolved.
Your memory module is not working correctly and should be replaced. This part is covered by your warranty. Please fill out the following form and we will ship your free replacement part to you.
Note: Warranty details can be viewed by entering your Service Tag on the
Dell Support homepage or on the
My Products and Services page.
As per the post I see that memory module replacement has been scheduled .Do confirm if this issue is on the new memory module or if you still haven't received the same also do let me know .And I would like to inform that this system has 8GB of memory module only because under the initial order if I check you have been charged and this system configured for only 8GB of memory .
Regret the inconvenience caused by the tool .However I would still request you to test the functionality of the system and if there are any concerns do write to us .
I think I have the same problem as other persons reported in this topic.
My laptop: Inspiron i7 5759
I noticed no problems.
I ran the diagnostics test with the SupportAssist. I used my servicetag. The advanced pattern test for the Memory failed. I could read on the screen that this was a critical error. And I was immediately prompted to get a new 8 GB DIMM. This has already been shipped. But then I came across this topic, where I read that maybe there is no real problem with the memory, but that the actual problem is with the SupportAssist.
So I called Technical Support. The supportperson on the phone told me to run the Diagnostics test from the Bootmenu (press F12 during startup. A long test, I had to wait for almost 5 hours before the test was completed.
Results: ALL TESTS PASSED
ePSA extended test passed
I am not a computer expert. Not at all. So the ' critical error' message from the SupportAssist-test scares me: maybe something is wrong?
Or maybe not?
When I look at the screen from the ePSA Pre-boot system Assessment and I press the button ' Advanced Options' I see the part ' Memory'.
There I see:
-Data Bus Stress Test
-WCMATS Test
-March C- Test
-XMATS32 Test
-Ground Bounce Test
-WCMch Test
-Random Pattern Test
-Hurdle Test
-Scan Test
I have no idea what these tests are about, but I can read. I do NOT see the ' advanced pattern test' in this list.
As I said, I am not a computer expert. So how should I interpret these results?
How should I interpret the different results from the SupportAssist (critical problem) and the ePSA test (all tests passed).

The issue has nothing to do with the memory modules but probably the support assist software that is providing false information.
The system was configured with 16 gb of memory and not 8gb. That is what the original order was.
Any memory stick I try provides the same memory fault result on the dell diagnostic software only.
Every other memory diagnostic software shows no issues.
The person on this forum has the exact same problem as I'm having.
