Alienware 15, water spill.
I bought my Alienware 15 in last August and it has been a blast to use. Until recently. I accidentally spilled a small amount of water onto the keyboard. An hour or so later, after I noticed this happened, I took it apart, gently wiped away what water I could find that leaked through into the hardware (motherboard, I believe). Then I set it up to dry in front a fan for two days. I proceeded to put the laptop back together only to find it will not turn on at all.
I am stunned that this happened and I don't know what to do next. 1600 down the drain? Or is there a way I can find relief in this embarrassing despair?

The place to start would be to replace the mainboard -- there could well be other parts that are damaged (video card, memory, CPU, etc.) but you won't know until you get a working mainboard in there.
There are a couple of different versions of this system, but as an example:

Once you have a known working board in the system, you should get at least a powerup test that will signal by beep code what other components may be faulty.
