Alienware m11x R2 Graphics driver update PLEASE HELP

Hi, today I learned that there is an nvidia driver update specified as 260.99. When I attempted to download and install it from the Nvidia website, it said it wasn't compatible. I tried GeForce.com and got the same thing. I went to alienware.com and they didn't have my graphics card on their list, and dell.com only has an old driver. Each time I made sure to specify that I have win7 64-bit. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks!

Dante

Hi,

I have the same problem as I need to update the driver to the latest version so that I can then download the 3d vision driver.

Nvidia have told me to go back to dell and ask why I cannot update the graphics driver.

I have a GTX 460M on a m15x windows 7

Unlike our Desktop video cards, the retail mobile drivers must be configured for our laptops before they will work. This is done by our engineering team and takes time. All you can do is keep checking our File Library.

Hi Dante,

I believe this new driver requires a "modded inf" file. "Dell's engineer's" take years to make these while the public community seems to gather there own resources. Uninstall you're driver and re-install using the driver in the link I'm providing as well as the INF file. Please reply if this helped...

Hi,

I am in the same situation and am currently contemplating on upgrading my nvidia gtx 460m driver from sparks recommendation but is this method advisable? I know there are alot of good feedbacks from the source but still is this the solution most of the experienced alienware users take?
