annoying toolbar

i have the most irritating toolbar which has attached itself to internet explorer. i did the ususal drill of running spysweeper which had picked it up before, but this time it diddnt i updated my software and still no result. so then it was a case of removing the toolbar from view and putting the google one there instead. although now it wont even let me do that, when i right click on the toolbar and try to 'uncheck' it it wont let me. it appears in very light grey text along with the google toolbar so its totally unacessable. usually im not picky about this sort of thing but its annoying cos it is also sending me pop-ups every 20 mins or so and seems to be hijacking internet explorer, any ideas on what to do about it. it also calls itself the 'poke' toolbar if it helps anyone.

I would reccommend using a couple of different ad/spyware programs. Try SpyBot - Search and Destroy. If that doesn't work, try Adaware from Lavasoft. Do a Google search for download sites, there are a bunch. SpyBot should take it out for you.

SpyBot is not the guru it used to be. I suggest that you try the other way around, ad-aware as your first port of call folowed by sybot if that does not help. Both are available at download.com
