Anybody having Windows Media Player 10 problems?

I have been trying to use Windows Media Player 10 since I got this computer back in July 2005. I don't find it very user friendly and have been having trouble with it.   1. I have tried ripping music to my computer and 'finding album info' on the net. Often times, WMP locks up. Sometimes it gets half of the album, track information and only one time it worked all the way through.   2. As a result of #1, I've tried manually inputing the music track info and such in myself since I couldn't get it to give it to me with the download. Often, WMP will freeze up. It seems that track info can freeze for 30 seconds and artist and album info freeze for 2 mins. a piece. This leaves the task of all of this very very long........Is it possible that RAM might have to do with this?   3. Sometimes when I have trouble getting all of my music uploaded, I cannot seem to delete the tracks I don't want from my computer...........especially the ones that say 'dc.15, dc.16, etc.'  I've tried several different ways of getting rid of these unplayable files and often times I receive an error message that tells me the file cannot be read. But it is still listed in my library.   I'm wondering what I can do about any of this....

I have been having the same problem. Media Player actually does not freeze when downloading the information, it just takes about 30 minutes per CD. I have the Inspiron 9300, but one of my coworkers has the Inspiron 6000, and he is not having the same problem. In fact, when he inserts a CD into the drive, the album info displays immediately. That is not the case with mine. When I insert a CD into the drive I have to use the find album info option.

I also have the same problem when trying to manually update the song info. It takes forever. If you gain any insight I would love to know what you find out.

Go to the Microsoft website and download MEdia Player 10.  Install the software, and this clears up the problem.  I just did this today and it corrected all of the problems with 'freezing' that I was having.  Manually editing the information is now very fast.  This must be a problem with the Dell installed version of Media Player 10.
