Battery error, not charging
i have dell inspiron N4050, and using windows 7....
backup time of my laptop was 3-4 hours , today suddenly it started showing "no battery is detected", the laptop was working when it's plugged out(on battery)...and battery light remains off when the battery is plugged in... but just now the error " battery not detected" is disappeared and its like the image above, and not working when laptop is not plugged in.. i am also unable to update the BIOS, it asks to connect the battery :(
what should i do? is it the battery problem or windows problem?

First, check the BIOS setup - F2 at powerup. Does the system identify the AC adapter, or is it listed as "unknown"?

Hi Rabiah,
As you have said that the computer would power up just the adapter the issue might be with the battery but before we conclude try booting into BIOS (F2 on Dell Logo) and check for the Adapter type.

Yes, warranty is active, but i am not getting what's the problem with the battery. Firstly it was undetectable, then it was detected but not getting charged. Now it has started getting charge itself but my laptop gets off at once while working on the battery otherwise battery is working well now..

As you said that the battery is getting charged, try doing a BIOS update now .

Even after the BIOS update, if the battery shows the same behavior it should be an issue with the battery itself.

1. update the bios to the newest version
2.The battery "plugged in not chaging" mainly caused by the motherboard battery charging circuit failed (disconnected). Just replace a motherboard or fix it by yourself.
3. Maybe your battery is locked by the chips protecting as the frequently fully-discharging, you must active it by refresh the battery chip.
