Hi SAKTHI13594,

What is the system exact system model? When did the issue start?

To confirm, the system works fine when connected via adapter, right?

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.

Restart the system and press f2 key to enter BIOS - check the adapter status in BIOS with and without the adapter plugged in. Also, wiggle the adapter cable at the end and see if the status changes in BIOS at any point. Check the battery health in BIOS (if applicable).

On certain models, the battery would have a life / health status button. Check the status on it. Or in Windows, in Dell Battery Meter - check battery health and battery life.

If the adapter is detected fine and the battery is not charging, the battery might have reached the end of its life.

If the system is under warranty, Please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name, Phone#, Address and Email). If there is no warranty, then you could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ

Install free Battstat. It will give you all the info you need to monitor the battery condition. If it says it's NG, it is.

Hi SAKTHI13594,

As advised in my previous post,

Have you run the diagnostics? Have you check the battery health in BIOS or in Windows? Is the adapter detected fine?

Please read through my previous post and provide a response, so we could help isolate the source of the issue. If the battery has indeed failed and if the system is under warranty, then the battery will be covered under warranty, for the first year from the date of invoice.

Please try another battery if required.
