I've heard/read conflicting information about whether it is ok to flash back to older BIOS updates.  I flashed A17 and began having problems with my Inspiron 6400.  So I flashed back to A12 which is what I was running before. 

 

When booting up, the splash screen now says A12 (which I expect), but I am still experiencing the same problems that I think are associated with A17.

 

It's possible that I have successfully flashed back to A12, and the problems are not associated with the BIOS updates at all.  But I'm still suspicious.

 

Is it ok to flashback like I have done, or is it typical that I am having problems trying to go back to A12?
