Bios upgrade for N5010
Dell recommends upgrading the bios for my N5010 laptop
I prepared a USB drive and formatted it with free-dos then downloaded and copied the bios file from here www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails;fileId=2731119665&categoryId=BI&productCode=inspiron-15-intel-n5010
I booted to the usb drive and ran N5010A15.EXE file, then an error message appeared which said:
ROM version should be newer then the bios version
Does anyone have insight or suggetions for me to have a succesful Bios upgrade please? :D

What is the currently installed BIOS revision and does the model match N5010?

Hi and thanks for your reply.
The link you gave me if for OS Win 10, and I am on WIn 7 still for my N5010 Inspiron
My current bios version is A15 release 19 July 2011. But I think I made a mistake. On this link page www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails;fileId=2731119665&categoryId=BI&productCode=inspiron-15-intel-n5010
It shows last updated on 5 March 2014. Does this mean there is a newer version than the 2011 version?
I may have answered my own question/problem... it seems I may have tried to upgrade to the same bios I already have...

The instructions are for updating the BIOS and although focussed on Windows 10 and preparing for the Windows 10 upgrade the instructions for checking the BIOS revision and updating equally apply to Windows 7 installs.
The latest BIOS Update is A15 released 24/7/2011 (UK time format):

Ignore the Date Updated (this is the last date Dell updated their Drivers and Downloads page and has no consequence respect to the BIOS Update) and focus instead on the release update. The release date is the date Dell released the BIOS update to the general public and is after the date you listed in system information as Dell took some time to test the update before releasing it.
