Thanks for the post! The Bluetooth drivers / software required would differ depending on the model system you have. Check out this solution to the error you are receiving on Microsofts Technet:
Error: "Bluetooth peripheral device driver not found" when you try to connect a bluetooth device
For more troubleshooting guides and instructions on how to download and install the latest Bluetooth Drivers for your system see the Dell Bluetooth troubleshooting guide below. Drivers can be downloaded from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/ and Bluetooth drivers are usually tied to wireless drivers located under the networking tab.
this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2654568 gives hint for Windows 7, but I have Vista installed on my Inspiron 1318. Am I using wrong kind of Bluetooth driver?
Try installing the update from the link below if you have not already. If the problem persists after updating the driver the Microsoft technet forum at the bottom of this post has a few other solutions that should be able to help.
