"BOOTMGR is missing"

Greetings,

My dell 1558 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium stopped working showing  BOOTMGR is missing and then Press ctrl+alt+del to reRECOVERY (followed by few junk char).

I have a tools and utilities CD that came along with this laptop but it does not help solving this problem. I hunted lot but all meaningless.

How can this problem be fixed with in a practical and feasible manner?
