Camera shows a black screen

I've had my Inspiron since december, the camera has not worked in a month. all it shows is a black screen. i have uninstalled it several times and it worked for a day and then stopped working again. I am extremely disappointed in this laptop and have never had one that had problems so quickly and will probably not get another dell laptop. things should not be malfunctioning after 3 months, this is ridiculous!
