can't see wireless networks
I have a Dell Vostro 1320 and my operation system is Windows xp sp3. I install wireless network card and in network connections I can see "Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card".
I have 3 wireless network in my place and other laptops and cellphones can see these networks but I can't. I test it in some other places with some other wireless networks but I can't see anything.
another thing: my bluetooth light is on but wireless light is off ??!!
Is there a hardware (wireless antenna or ...) problem??
Additional information:
1- WLAN in computer setup is ENABLED
2-Wireless and bluetooth switch is on.
3-I can send and receive files via bluetooth.
4-Wireless network installed correctly in device manager

Several possible solutions to this.
1. Locate and sight the wireless card - is it definately a Dell 1397?
2. Uninstall the driver, reinstalling with the latest version for your wireless card (see 1.)
3. Make sure you do not have a wired LAN cable connected when trying to use wireless.
4. Make sure both black and white wires are attached to the card in the right connectors. (as indicated on card usually)
5. Could be that the card has finally died and needs replacing. (Less than £10 on auction site).

1. How can check "is it defiantly a Dell 1397" ???
2. I test it and my driver is latest

4. What is black and white wires????!!!!

Flip the laptop over so the rear edge is furthest away from you. Rear left corner is a panel, open this. The wireless card is, I beleive, the middle card - the other two slots (possibly labelled WPAN and WWAN) maybe empty anyway. There will be a bunch of wires, but two of them will be coloured solid white and solid black. Wireless card model number is written on the card and can be seen without removing it. Check that the black wire goes to aux or black and white wire goes to main or white. If wireless N, there will be a third solid grey wire going to the middle connector on the card.
I guess it is because bluetooth is on, but try turning off wireless devices via the switch, wait 20 seconds, then turn back on.
It is unusual for a wireless card to fail, but it is known to happen from time to time. As you have only had it three weeks, you should still be covered under warranty for a new replacement. Dell Chat or phone them for a replacement. Or upgrade it for a few pounds/dollars to a wireless N if it isn't already which arent hard to find on various auction sites.
