Centrino 2
Hi, i am new at this. Hopefully someone can answer my questions.
Ok, for a laptop to qualify and get the centrino2 sticker it must contain the following: a intel core2duo processor, a certain intel chipset and a intel wireless card. If the system has intel core2duo processor, intel chipset and dell wireless card it will get the core2duo sticker.
My questions are: to qualify for centrino2 label must it be a specific intel processor, chipset and wireless card?
Also, if my dell studio has a dell wireless card can i replace it with a intel wireless card?
And if i replace it with a intel wireless card will my system then be centrino2?
Answers in this regard, or montevina, GM45 chipset, differences between wireless cards, etc will be appreciated.

You have the facts correct - though the only Centrino 2 systems from Dell so far are the new Latitude E-series and the Precisions derived from them. The Inspiron, XPS and Studios do not have Centrino 2 chipsets and use the older pre-Montevina CPUs.

Think you wrong, the new studio1537 has the 'cantiga GM45' chipset. This new centrino2 technology is available for the studio on dell site.
i have ordered it, should receive it next week.

The centrino 2 also has switchable graphics:for performance you can switch on the video card;for battery time switch to integrated graphics.
