I've gone two different routes for cleaning keyboards - they both work, but one is easier on the mind, in my opinion.
Insert all the disclaimers here, and be sure to turn off your machine before you get liquids near the keyboard. Don't come crying to me if you dork up your machine.
I've used Handi-wipes, the little pre-moistened towelettes, with good success. My concern with them is that I fear they may dribble a bit more than I'm comfortable with, and they're mostly water-based. I'll use them, but very carefully, after thoroughly wringing them out first.
The surer method is to get some of the isopropyl-alcohol-based screen cleaning towelettes. They're not as wet, and the alcohol does a good job of cutting through the guck. I still wring out everything I can, just out of excess paranoia.
I've also used isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, and tape-deck head cleaning solution, on a towel or facecloth, or even a Kleenex (carefully, because they shred). Again, just be sure to wring out the excess liquid.
I've seen people use that spray desk cleaner on stand-alone keyboards, but that makes me cringe. The alcohol-on-a-cloth method works extremely well, and is really easy to control.
