Compatible LCD screens for D500?

I have a D500 with a cracked screen. The model number of the screen is N141X7-L02. I didn't get the "complete coverage" warranty, so therefore I have elected to replace it myself. I have looked for the same model #, but have been unsuccessful. I have found an LG-Phillips screen with the model number LP141X8-L02. On the LG-Phillips web page, they only list a model number of LP141X13. Can anyone tell me if these screens will work for me?

Out of curiosity, is it possible to upgrade to a 15 in. screen from the 14.1?

The safest bet is to get exactly the same screen you have.  Check with LG-Philips to see if they're cross-compatible - beyond the physical issues (the screen has to fit the case, which rules out a 15" panel on yours, unless you replace the plastic shell, inverter, and perhaps other parts such as the flex cable), the inverter is often screen-specific and won't work with anything other than the original panel, or a closely matched successor.

OK, so is that to say that if I find a screen that came from a D500 that is 15" and has the inverter and the case, that it should work? Also, since the D600 has been said to be so similar, would a screen from it work?

Probably, but the same applies - get the whole assembly.  The 600 doesn't come with anything larger than a 14" screen though.

Thanks for the help. This is way better than calling customer service!
