Cord not working

Question

I own an Inspiron 5160.The battery died due to a short in the power cord. It used to work when I jiggle on the cord, now nothing is working. Any tips? I also own an Inspiron 6000 and tried switching power cords to no avail. The battery light just flicks on and off.

ok do u wiggle somewhere in the middle of the cord to make it work or do u wiggle the connector near the laptop to make it work. if its near the laptop top then the board on the laptop could be problem. pray its the wire

I wiggle the part of the cord leading into the box near the plug.Does Dell sell computer cords separately?

Dell can probably sell you a cord, but there are also other sources, at least for comparison.
