Creating boot diskette for updating BIOS C610

I finally have the OS installed......XP Home. The current BIOS is A05 and I want to update to A16. I'm going to do the floppy boot method but I need to make a DOS boot disk and wonder if I can do that from XP since it's NTFS and not a dos based system. Can I just make an XP boot disk the copy the new BIOS to it or do I need to make an actual DOS boot disk? Thanks

Just right-click the A:\ Drive, select "Format" and then "create an MS-DOS startup disk" file system will be FAT.

Copy your BIOS Dell Latitude C610 System BIOS
Choose a File Format {Click this link}

"Non-Packaged
C610_A16.exe
Description: This file format consists of a BIOS executable file. To use it,
download the file and copy it to a DOS-bootable diskette.
With the diskette in the floppy drive, reboot the system and run the program."

(Just type C610_A16.exe and hit enter, it may ask some questions first, but then it erases your current BIOS and loads the new
don't interupt or touch a thing until it has finished)! When it is done, it will reboot and give you a chance to tap F2 to enter
your BIOS Setup and check the settings.

I would prefer the above to the Floppy "C610-A16.EXE Description: This file contains a compressed (or zipped) set of files.
Download the file to a folder on your hard drive, and then run (double-click) it to unzip the set of files.
Follow the instructions to create a set of floppy diskettes, and then use the diskettes to complete the installation."

as it gives you time to insure that your diskette is 'solid' and that you are in a stable MS-DOS (never windows 'DOS').
