D510: Suspend to disk under Linux Fedora Core 4

Hi,

I run Fedora Core 4 on my Latitude D510.

Almost all services are well configured. Now, I would have hybernation working on my laptop. Note: apmd does not seem to work in this machine due to BIOS incompatibility.

I have verified that both closing the lid and pushing the blue "Standby" button result into events that acpid recognizes correctly. I "only" need an action, i.e. a script that suspends (and then resumes) the computer correctly.

I have tried some scripts (some were reported to work with the Latitude family), but none of them works well in my machine. One, in particular, resulted in the loss of all data of one working day.

Anybody who has hybernation working well in her/his D510 under Linux?

Thanks,
Federico
