Has your audio ever worked? What happened between the last time it was working and when it stopped working? What is the Operating System you are running? Did you see any error messages when installing the driver?
Jim, Good morning! Yes, the audio worked completely and now for whatever reason it doesn't. I tried downloading the drivers from the Dell Support page again. I can still hear sound on some windows media and quicktime videos but that is it. There is no system sound what so ever. It is still on the same operation system. There weren't any error messages. Thanks again for your help! Twiffffi

Because you can hear audio using some programs, it almost seems like some configuration issue rather than a problem with the hardware or with the audio driver, because the sounds you do hear would seem to confirm that they are functioning.
What about playing a dvd or cd, or mp3. (I'm not sure exactly what type of audio is windows media, are they .wma files?)
Have you tried checking that all of the volumes are turned up and no 'mute' boxes are checked?
Open Audio Properties (right click on the volume icon on the taskbar and click 'adjust audio properties', or go through the Control Panel/Sounds & Audio Devices). Select the Audio tab. Click on 'Volume' under 'Sound Playback'. Also check the volume control of all the audio applications or players you use.
For system sounds, go back to Audio Properties and select the Sounds tab. Make sure that the sound scheme doesn't say 'no sounds'.
If none of that helps try System Restore. Go to Start/Help & Support/System Restore and tick 'Restore my computer to an earlier time'.
