D620 mic setting keeps swapping internal to external
Help please...
Brand new, almost out-of-the-box Latitude D620.
When I go in to Control Panel> Sounds... on the Audio tab, I can get an extended volume control that allows me to enable the internal mic, disable the external.
I know the internal mic works because it passed testing with the Sound Recorder.
BUT the setting keeps switching itself back. I go away for a while, come back, re-open the settings, and the external mic is enabled and the internal one is disabled. And, of course, GTalk and Sound Recorder don't work.
Just updated audio driver to latest on website (think date was in 6/2006?).
No external mic connected.

My mute and volume control buttons on the keyboard also stopped working. Then, just magically, they worked again. What's going on here?

- They changed laptop mother board 2 times
- Send me new laptop drive with preloaded OS.
But the problem is still there.
Many of my friends with same model has same problem. But DELL still not accepting it as a design flaw in the model or problem with audio device driver.
