D630 processor upgrade cooling question
I got a T9500 processor to upgrade my Dell D630 Latitude that presently has a T7250 cpu installed. Looking at the instructions, the only concern I have is about the thermal pad and grease. I don't want to get the job half done and find I need parts.
Is it recommended to replace the thermal pad with another one, and if so where can I get one. Or can I either reuse the old one, or substitute thermal grease. I'm assuming that the CPU grease should be replaced. I've seen comments recommending different approaches- some don't like the pads. And I've seen comments that there is a gap somewhere between the heat producing parts and the cooling elements- that doesn't sound good.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
