Dell Inspiron Problem after problem and has anyone else had the same problems?

About three weeks ago I was on a trip when my Inspiron 6000 stopped working. I plugged it in the wall, no dice, battery drained so no power. I called Dell and they said it needed a new mother board. Well when it returned it ran REALLY SLOW!!!!. So i tried to do a system recovery and mysteriously I was missing sytem files for windows or they had been corrupted. Again I called Dell and they sent me new windows and system installation disks. Tried to install windows again and the darn thing locked up while installing windows. Now Dell is sending me a new hard drive, have to wait and see if that does the trick.

Have you run the Dell diagnostics on the drive (F12 at boot)?

chia,
Wish you all the luck in the world with the motherboards...Im currently running on a 6000 due to my old laptop having had 3 replacements of the motherboard. :smileysad:  Keep on their case about getting it right or turn to the BBB!

well it only got worse today. They called me and told me i need to pay to have the LCD screen replaced. When I put the laptop in the box to have it shipped it had a perfectly good screen. So I called customer care who then referred me to technical support. I asked if they could just replace the darn thing and they said that would take 7-14 days. They are going to call tommorrow with the resolution.
