Dell Intelligent display wont disable?
Dell Inspiron 3135 with a fresh install of Windows 8.1, also installed the newest Dell Quickset and its bios is up to date. When I toggle "Enable Dell Intelligent Display in Battery Mode", Intelligent Display turns off. However, if I reboot or put the comptuer into sleep mode the feature turns itself back on! The checkbox in the dialog still shows it should be disabled though.
Are there any known work arounds? This has been a persistent issue for months with different reinstalls, and I've heard of others having the same issue.

same here. Truth be told, it's an annoying feature. :/

Today I flashed a new BIOS (A02) and the problem was solved.
Option "Dell Intelligent Display" has been removed.

I've had A02 for the 3135 since it came out and it does not fix this issue.

Dear pi.micron,
I have the same issue with my new Inspiron 7347. The dell intelligent display software resets itself upon reboot, despite the option being unchecked. The only way to disable it is to recheck it, confirm "Apply" then "OK," then repeat the whole procedure while unchecking the option. It's annoying.
I am a bit reluctant to flash the new BIOS (now there is even a new version, A03) for fear that it will screw up the computer. How was your experience?
Can you tell that the dell intelligent display feature is off from looking at the screen? I fear that upon not having the option to toggle the feature on/off anymore (as you describe after flashing the new A02 BIOS), I won't be able to tell weather the feature is actually off.

Do not be afraid, flash version A03. This will save you from problems with option "Dell Intelligent Display" and will solve the problem with the backlit keyboard, which turned on at the exit from sleep/hibernation.
I have a feeling that the option "Dell Intelligent Display" was completely off, because now my eyes don't feel changing the display contrast (I want to note that I have disabled all the power saving modes in the Intel graphics settings).

Thanks for the great advice. I eventually flashed BIOS version A03 and all is perfect since. Dell Intelligent Display disappeared and the backlit keyboard no longer turns on whenever it feels like it.
Thanks again.

Andymion,
For me, the issue was fixed by updating the bios to A03. However, I have a different model (Inspiron 13 7347). If updating the bios does not work for your model, I would contact technical support and see whether they have anything useful to say on the matter.
