Dell Latitude E4310 Webcam

The integrated webcam on my E4310 is not being recognised anywhere. This is a topic which already has several previous discussions, but without any solution for me. The webcam doesn't appear in device manager:

and is not recognised on skype, or the Dell Webcam Central. When put through the Dell diagnostics test it says no camera is installed. Is it possible that there is no webcam on this laptop and what I see above the screen is something else? Thanks

Hi milksteak92,

Good work on troubleshooting. I would suggest you to update the BIOS on the computer. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, then download the BIOS required onto the system and install it.

Also, I would suggest you to run the test on Webcam again on the system.

1.       Open the link http://dell.to/14YjKb2

2.       Select ‘Hardware’ under ‘Advanced’ tab.

3.       Select ‘Camera’.

4.       Click on ‘Run Diagnostics’ button.

5.       Let me know if the results.

Thanks, I've done that now. When running the diagnostic, when it came to the part of 'running selected diagnostics' it showed this message:

'We are unable to find the selected device. The device driver for your selected diagnostic is either not installed or installed incorrectly. Please ensure your device is enabled through your device manager or go to Drivers and Downloads to install the latest driver.'

Thanks

Hi milksteak92,

Sorry for the delayed response. It seems like the webcam is faulty you will need to replace it. Please contact the Out of Warranty department 1-800-288-4410 (U.S.Customer only).
