Dell Latitude E7240

Hello All,

I have a latitude E7240. It came with windows 7. I can see that i have a windows license embedded in bios. I also have a windows 8 sticker under the battery. i am not sure whether the license is for windows 8 single user or windows 8 pro. Please let me know how can i identify the windows version for my latitude. Presently i am running ubuntu and i want to install windows 8 on this machine. Also i am unable to find any drivers of this laptop. Please provide a link to the drivers also.

Regards,

Hey Sreejith,

Thanks for the post! You can find drivers and full order details for your system on the Dell Product support page http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/latitude-e7240-ultrabook/configuration . In order to find out what version of Windows your system was initially shipped with and what upgrade OS was included, you can use the 'original / system configuration' tabs on this site and see the OS details ordered.

Microsoft has some great upgrade advice in the Windows guide below.

Thanks,

The Windows 8 sticker will mention Pro if it is the Professional Edition. If the sticker just says Windows 8, it could be Windows 8 or Windows 8 Single Language. You may have to try a bit of trial and error. See here for details:
