Dell Mini 10 does not display elevation using CoPilot Live
My problem with the Dell Mini 10 GPS and CoPilot live is that the CoPilot software will not display the correct elevation. The Dell GPS utility will show signal lock on at least seven satellites and display the correct Latitude, Longitude and elevation. The CoPilot application will show the correct Latitude and Longitude but will display my elevation as <100 feet. I live in Colorado where there is no elevation below 4000 feet. CoPilot claims that their software only passes on the information received from the GPS. But if the Dell GPS utility displays an altitude of 1650 meters and CoPilot displays <100 feet (<30 meters) something is wrong. Dell’s overseas customer service rep and his supervisor were both reading from the same boiler plate and repeated the same mantra that the GPS might not 100 percent accurate. An error of even a few hundred feet in elevation would be acceptable to me but not one mile. I contacted Dell again yesterday and they agreed to replace the GPS card. Dell also convinced CoPilot to escalate my complaint. I shall see if either resolves my problem but if Dell supplies software even if it is third party software, should they not make sure all capabilities are working? Dell should take ownership of any applications they supply.

A new GPS card did not resolve the problem.
Since Dell provided the software, albeit third party, it should be fully functional.
If CoPilot can not or will not make my system fully functional, Dell should provide GPS software from another vendor. Garmin would be my suggestion.

Dell’s latest tactic is to call outside of the time window I said I can be reached at and at a phone number I said not to call me at and claim that if they can’t reach me that they will close the ticket. At no time have they followed up with CoPilot even though they started the dialog with CoPilot. I have emailed Dell the time I can be reached at in Mountain Time, GMT and now in India Standard Time. I also said to call me at a specific time and number. I shall see if they will. At no time will they give me specific name and number to call back. I have to go through 4 different queues before being disconnected.
