DELL N5010 - 8 BEEP Codes while Starting Up
Hi,
I am having a Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop which i had bought it in 2010.
Yesterday, When I was using it for surfing an internet, my cursor got struck and was not moving for few seconds.
After that, nothing appeared in the screen it was black and after few seconds I heard 8 Beep sounds.
I thought that restarting will help to resolve this problem.
So I restarted my laptop, and unforunately the beep sound came again and dint show anything on screen. I did try for few times but it doesn't work.
Please help me on how to resolve this problem and what are things that i need to do for the same.

Thanks for your reply.
I did try connecting to external monitor.
I was only able to see the Dell logo screen which appears on the external monitor, that only half screen from top.
What else I should do to resolve this problem.

Hi Default_DellUser,
The 8 beep error code indicates a display failure, connect an external monitor and check if the display works?

Alright!
So here was my problem:
Ive searched enough forums and tried everything!
But today I put myself to shame by finally giving it to the repair shop.He used his multimeter and immediately told me this part (circled in red) had to be replaced. He called it Display IC. In Indian rupees, it cost me 1200 rupees (20 dollars). And voila! It's done!
I do not guarantee if this will work forever but I will keep you guys posted if anything goes wrong. I made this dell account specifically to help people like me. :emotion-43:
I'll keep you posted!
