Dell PC Restore

Question

Hello, i am trying to fix my sister's computer for her. It is a Inspiron 5100. I backed up all her important files and i was going to restore the factory settings. When i restart the computer the screen where i should press CTRL + F11 does not show up. it just goes from the main dell screen to the windows loading screen. she says that she has used this feature before. Is there any way to fix this or to acess this feature another way? please let me know.

I just found out that she bought the computer in october2003. And used the system restore not the ctrl+f11 process. the coputer did not come with xp cd's. since the computer is so old does that mean that it doesnt have the restore to factory settings option?

Back then, the computer did come with OS and driver CDs. If you don't have an XP CD, you can borrow one from a friend with a Dell system, or you can purchase a retail copy of XP.
