Dell sells hardware capped systems
Be careful if you were gonna buy a Dell desktop/laptop for these days:
If you ever wondered if buying a Dell computer was a right choice now you may know it isn't.
In XPS systems Dell has made a cut on some devices disabling their capabilities.
For example you won't have STEREO MIX (Wave Out) which means you won't ever be able to broadcast, for example, your own music to your friends.
I just say that since Dell is not warning about this issues and we're already many affected users (check most forums related with Dell: Dell "Stereo mix" in google).
We all doubt this was a legal action from their part, but nobody is leading them to the court

Have you tried the solution here? I don't know if it works or not, but it seems to work form some people with Dells.

What are you comparing the "cut" to? The retail version of the sound card? Dell doesn't make any promises that they ship retail equivalent parts - none of the major OEMs do.

U seem to not understand the issue, hrova.
They did HARDWARE CAPPING. No way to solve it with freak drivers.
They just disabled StereoMix at the hardware level. Incredible but true, that's Dell.
Don't buy Dell Capped Desktops & Laptops.

To imply that Dell did this to all of their machines is unfair and wrong.
The fact that other Dell users HAVE gotten it to work supports that belief.
If it is truly a hardware issue, and you bought hardware based on that feature, produce the documenation that you purchased that feature. Dispute the computer purchase with Dell or your credit card company that Dell did you wrong.
Incidentally, as upset as you seem, I am wondering why you just did not return it wothin Dell's 21 day return period..... You could have bought what you wanted and made a statemet to Dell in the process. As it is now, you sound like you're just here to complain....
