No, and no.  What you see is what you get - there is no other option, nor any way to upgrade the system once you buy it.  If you need better video consider an XPS M1730.

Bear in mind that there is no video card in anything sized like the Studio 16 - it's a soldered-in chip, as it would be with any competitor's system.

lol.... XPS M1730 is all outdated....

DDR2 667MHz...

Intel 965 Chipset

Intel AGN WIRELESS or Dell Wireless

only these come in XPSM1730

see here...

DDR3 1067MHz

Intel PM45 Chipset

Intel 5300 Ultimate Wifi Link...(you dont need a access point to connect to your frineds lappy)... this card makes the full centrino technology!!!

and there are many more cons in XPS M1730 over pros... that makes me not to go for XPS 1730

also the upgrade of memory and hard ain M1730 is lil bit cost much.. were u  dont want to upgrade anything here except the RGBLED display... studio xps lappy will be the sexy one rather than carrying a brick(XPS M1730 Charger) as your PSU

I wish dell could give a nice video card upgrade option!!!

Hi

I own a Studio XPS16 notebook. It is a nice media computer. I first got a "look" at the "16" at http://www.notebookcheck.net/ .

Dell will be releasing an updated XPS 16 very soon that contains the Radeon HD 4670 graphics card so it's exactly what you want. Here's why I think so:

1. Today they released an updated bios for the XPS 16 that specifically mentions support for the HD 4670 (check the XPS 1640 downloads/bios section).
2. The crimson red version of the laptop will probably be released as an option for the revised XPS 16: http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/17/c...6-in-the-wild/

If like me you are waiting for the XPS 16 to come equipped with a better video card, I think it will be any day now so just hold on a bit longer.
