Dell Touchpad Driver - Alps
Suddenly I cannot turn off the touchpad - I tried uninstalling the driver and downloading it again from Alps, but it doesn't install correctly no matter what I do. Then I tried to install an earlier version and got a DEP_HARD_ERROR. It seems like it installs, but I run it and the touchpad is still working - when I click on the DellTPad icon, it doesn't open so I can shut the tpad off.
Help please!!!!! Trying to type is driving me crazy - have to keep looking for the cursor.

Hi shop6047,
There are some systems which have a disable and enable hotkey. Also the Dell Quickset application can be used to enable or disable the touchpad.
Share the exact system model and the operating system.
Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you further.

I have a Inspiron N5110 - the hot key doesn't work and I tried going into
Hardware and disabling the touchpad, but couldn't find a place to do that.
Now it's begun to do a system dump periodically and the only thing I can
get is a irq conflict, but when I check, it says there are no conflicts.
I'm using Windows 7. I certainly hope I can get this figured out - don't
have the money to take it into repair nor the $69.00 to contact Dell.
Any more suggestions?

Hi shop6047,
You may update the touchpad driver for your system. The link for the driver is http://dell.to/1enn2XT.
Also, update the Dell quickset application from the link http://dell.to/1fz1Otg.
To enable or disable the touchpad, press and hold the key, then press the key.
