Dell touchpad personal settings
Dell laptop Inspiron 1720 is one month old. I customised the Dell Touchpad settings, such as the speed and scrolling settings. Satisfyed with those changes I removed the touchpad icon from the Task Bar. Mistake! My action removed it from Desktop also. Now my touchpad workds, but the scroll feature does not. I cannot adjust touchpad, etc. When I go to Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Mouse/ Mouse Properties, there is no Device Select tab, nor a Touch Pad tab to select. Please advise how to restore my ability to access the touchpad settings.

Try using System Restore to restore you computer to a date before you removed the software.

System restore will return your system to the state it was in on the date of the restore point. Any software added since will be gone after executing the System Restore, although data files will remain as System Restore does not keep track of data files.
