Dell Vostro 3750 screen backlight problem. . . . .

Hello,

I have a dell vostro 3750 laptop, the screen broke so i replaced this, after i replaced this the backlight for the laptop did not work, if i shine a torch on the screen i can see the screen is working, just no backlight. I thought it must have been a faulty LCD replacement so i ordered another and this is doing the same thing.

I have now tried a new vga cable from the motherboard to the screen and still there is a backlight problem, absolutely no light from the screen.

What could be the issue please?

Many Thanks,

Danny

Is the screen the exact same as the one it replaced?  If not, if it uses a CCFL backlight, did you change the inverter with  the screen?

The screen is exactly the same as the original which was removed, it even worked for a short while. There doesnt appear to be an inverter board, unless this is built into the screen?

If it's an LED backlit screen, it won't have an inverter -- and from the sound of it, there two possibilities - the new screen is faulty, or whatever  happened to the system to damage the screen, also damaged the system board.
