Well when doing a install all of the drivers need to be installed in the correct order.

You may have to re install Windows and install drivers in the correct order to get them to work.

That being said, Is your network listed in Device Manager. Is it loaded correctly, does it have a yellow exclamation point.

When you plug in your Ethernet cord do you get a link light at the connection show that it is connected,, if so what color is it.

No yellow exclamation points, not registering any internet. What is the correct order for drivers? there is a driver cd that i plugged in and half are unchecked as if it detects they are not installed. half of them will not install. I will attempt to reinstall windows for the 4th time and apply those three drivers.

Apparently the network adapter cannot be found to install the correct drivers. Somehow I think it did not reinstall with the reboot of the system. How can I install it?

The network driver should be the Broadcom driver underneath network.

At boot when you see the Dell Logo  hit F2 and enter the Setup Menu and check to make sure your network card is enabled.

click on my user name add me as a friend and send me your service tag number and I can look up what wireless card was sent with the computer.

I abandoned all hope and installed 64 bit windows 7 from my pc to my laptop instead of the vista it came with. No issues.
