Disable gpu
Hi, i have an older vostro 1510 and it has two gpu: some unnamed (pm 965) on motherboard and the second nvidia 8400. And i would like to disable that unnamed gpu because of temperature (always it is hotter than nvidia) and because i dont want use it. Under the thermal cooling assebly there is at first processor, at second that unnamed gpu and at third nvidia. And as i said - the unnamed gpu is for most time hotter than nvidia (even though i dont use it). In device manager (win) under display adapters there is mentioned only nvidia - and anywhere i cannot find the unnamed gpu. So, does anybody know how can i disable the unnamed gpu? Thank you.

There shouldn't be 2 gpu for older laptop and pm965 is an intel express chipset

Your system has only an nVidia GPU - there is nothing to disable.

This model is built two ways - with integrated video (GM965 chipset) or with nVidia video (PM965 chipset).
The PM965 chipset does not have integrated video.
The chips you refer to are part of the chipset itself - the one near the CPU is called the northbridge; the one further away is the southbridge. Both are essential to the operation of the system and neither can be disabled.
So -- though you can choose to believe as you wish, your system actually has only nVidia video -- if there's a cooling problem, it may be time to replace the thermal pads under the heatsinks. They do dry out with time and lose their effectiveness.
