disable laptop battery

Hi, For a research project, I want to know if there is a way to enable and disable the battery, if so, how can this be done please ?

I have to make a program that monitors the battery and stop charging if it exceeds a certain percentage,so

is there a configuration system (for example) that disable the battery charging.

Simple:  remove the battery (on most systems, that's possible;  on a few, though it's not).

Some systems have this option -- others do not.  It varies by model.

It's usually part of the Dell quickset app.

Ok, thank you again for you answer, so the OS has no control over battery charging without Dell quickset app.

Unfortunately I think the battery management is done only by the software provided by the manufacturer of the laptop

is there a library that can help a developer to controle this?

I tried to contact Dell technical support, but I can not do it because the warranty of my laptop has expired (an old laptop).
