Docking stations XPS Gen2

I have never owned a laptop and I am about to purchase the I.XPS.Gen2. I will mostly use it as desktop and would like to have a separate monitor, external drive, mouse, keyboard, printer and speakers set up. I know nothing about docking stations and the info on the site was sketchy at best.

 

what should I look for. is it impossible?

 

I've got a couple of other newbie questions. Can you link notebook and separate monitors for a two monitor system? Can I wire an internet connection to the docking station and use wireless when detached.

 

I'm quite sure there is giggling going on over these questions but my techie partner was useless in this department.
