Does Dell Not Support Windows XP Anymore?
So I'm trying to re-install XP on my Vostro 1320 laptop, and I'm having problem after problem, which makes no sense to me because I've installed XP on this computer before and it was a breeze. I downloaded all my drivers from the Dell Support site, installed them, and was good to go. Now that I'm trying to re-install, I did the same thing, and after a long headache-filled struggle trying to understand why nothing at all was working, I realized that all the drivers that I had downloaded this time from the Windows XP section of the Dell Support site are actually Windows 7 drivers. Yet they are still all listed in the "Windows XP" category when you select it in the OS pull-down menu.
Is this a mistake? If so, does anyone know where I can find the correct XP drivers? If it's not a mistake and they stopped supporting XP for this product, why is Windows XP even listed as an option, except to confuse people?

A similar thing happened to me yesterday. I was looking up a specific XP IDT audio driver to get some details about it from its download page. The route I took was first to the laptop's XP download page (Precision m6400), then expanded the Audio category. The correct driver version number was there, but when I clicked on the link I ended up at a Win 7 IDT driver page. I tried this a couple of times with the same result. I finally got to the correct driver page by using the "search Dell Community" box and finding a good link to the driver.
So anyone know why the XP driver links are messed up?
