Does not resume from standby mode

A few more details about your laptop may be helpful.

Inspiron 3500 runningwindowsXP Pro. Have tried both suspending to disk and suspending to ram. Both with the same results. When I try to come out of standby the laptop does nothing. I have to shut it down and restart it. When the computer goes into standby my power led shows yellow as is normal. When I try to resume it goes green. But as I said, I get nothing and have to hold the power button to shut down and resstart the PC.

are you using the latest available bios?

I have a machine exibiting the same syptoms. An Inspiron 5100. Any clues on this yet?
