Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT)

Ok I've read up on Intel's Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT) and I am a little bit confused. It says its controlled by the operating system or in the BIOS though on my inspiron their is no option to change the memory usage to the graphics core in the BIOS and I cant find anything in the operating system. I have the latest drivers which also has no options. However, in the information window that comes up when I click on the Intergrated Graphics tray icon it says only 8mb of RAM is being allocated to the graphics core, I obviously dont do any hardcore gaming on this laptop but I'd like to have about 50mb allocated, it says 96mb is the max allowed. Does anyone have any clue how to change this? Is this based on how much RAM you have in your computer which I only have 256 (which will be upgraded to 1gb soon). Just looking for any opinions. Thanks in advance!!!!

The 8M is a frame buffer, not the video RAM. That number will not and cannot be changed.

The maximum RAM allocated to video is dependent on the total amount of system RAM, but cannot manually be altered. The system will use only as much video RAM as the applications running, require.
