E6500 memory upgrade
Hi,
The E6500 is upgradable to 8GB RAM, I currently have 4GB in 2 SIMMS
Two questions:
- Can I replace one of the 2GB SIMMS with a 4GB SIMM and get to 6GB?
- Do you know why there isn't any way of purchasing more than 1GB SIMMS on the Dell website?
regards,
RR

You can but you will not get the full advantage of DDR2 memory timings as to get the best results you should always install memory in pairs.
Around here we most always recommend Crucial memory as it is guaranteed to be compatible with your system.
Remember to get the full advantage of running more than 4 gigs you need to be running a 64 bit OS
