Error Code 0123
Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop with W Vista home primium shut down windows after uninstalling /reinstalling Paint Shop Pro12. It gave an option to run a diagnostic and said there was an error code 0123 in the memory. I then selected the option to continue which produced the option to boot in safe mode. I did a system restore to before uninstalling PShop Pro and the computer returned to normal.
Is it likely that I have a problem with the memory hardware?
Deirdre.

Re-run the diagnostic and record the DIMM (1 or 2) that produced the error. Then swap the modules around (DIMM1 is under the keyboard; DIMM2 is under a door at the bottom of the system). Re-test. If the error follows the module, then replace the DIMM. If the error occurs in the same socket as initially with the other DIMM in there, it's the socket that's faulty - replace the system board.
