You need a new hard drive. If the system is under warranty, call Dell with the error and they'll replace the drive.
If the system is out of warranty, you'll need a new, 2.5" 9.5, 7 or 5 mm SATA notebook drive and quite a bit of patience (replacing the drive isn't easy on this model):
The error code 2000-0142 means the hard drive self-test failed and the hard drive needs to be replaced.
Does the computer have an active warranty? You can check the warranty status here. In case of expired warranty scenario, we would not be able to extend warranty entitled services.
