Ethernet port partially broken

Recently my dog ran across the room ripping my ethernet cord out and bending the metal that clips the cord in.  It is still a functional port, however the cord falls out easily unless the computer is entirely horizontal.  I've called a computer repair place they say they have to replace the entire ethernet card.  How much of a hassle would this be?
